This policy explains what information AdminsForum ("we", "us") collects when you use adminsforum.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and in plain language. If anything is unclear, email us at [email protected].
What we collect
When you create an account
Your username, email address and password. The password is stored as a secure hash, never in plain text.
Optional profile details you choose to add, such as an avatar, signature, website or time zone.
When you use the forum
The content you post: threads, replies, attachments, reactions and private messages.
Your IP address, recorded with posts and logins. We use it to fight spam and abuse and to keep the forum secure.
Basic technical data your browser sends, such as browser type, pages visited and the time of your visit.
When you contact us
If you use the contact form or email us, we keep your message and email address so we can reply.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies:
Forum cookies keep you logged in, remember your settings and track which threads you've read. The forum doesn't work properly without them.
Analytics cookies from Google Analytics help us understand how visitors use the site, such as which guides are popular. The data is aggregated.
Advertising cookies from Google AdSense and its partners may be used to show ads, including ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites.
Security cookies from Cloudflare help protect the site against attacks and bots.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block forum cookies, you won't be able to stay logged in.
Third-party services
We use trusted providers to run the forum. They only receive the data they need to do their job:
Cloudflare delivers and protects our website. Your traffic passes through Cloudflare's network.
Automated assistance. Some replies on the forum are assisted by automated tools from third-party providers. To create those replies, the text of the related post may be sent to the provider. Please don't post passwords, private keys or other secrets in public posts.
YouTube hosts our video lessons. Videos are embedded in privacy-enhanced mode, and YouTube may set cookies when you play a video.
How we use your information
To run your account and show your posts.
To send you emails you asked for, such as thread subscriptions, private message alerts and password resets.
To prevent spam, abuse and attacks, and to keep the forum secure.
To understand what content is useful and improve the site.
To show ads that help keep the forum free.
We don't sell your personal information.
What is public
Your username, profile, posts and reactions are public and may be indexed by search engines. Private messages are only visible to you, the people you send them to, and forum administrators when needed to handle abuse.
How long we keep data
We keep your account and posts for as long as your account exists. Server logs and IP records are kept for a limited time for security. If you delete your account, we remove your personal details. Posts may stay visible under a guest name where removing them would break other people's discussions, unless you ask us to remove them.
Your rights
You can view and edit most of your information in your User CP. You can also ask us to:
send you a copy of the personal data we hold about you,
correct it,
delete your account and personal data,
stop using your data for a specific purpose.
Email [email protected] from the address on your account and we'll reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have additional rights under local law, including the right to complain to your data protection authority.
Security
We use HTTPS on every page, store passwords as secure hashes, keep our software updated and limit who can access the servers. No website is 100% secure, so please use a unique password for your account.
Children
AdminsForum is a technical community for adults. It isn't intended for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For important changes, we'll post an announcement on the forum.
