What is FASTPANEL?
FASTPANEL is a Linux server control panel with a browser interface for common website administration. The vendor offers the panel free through its licensing process. The VPS, domains, storage and any separately purchased services still have their own costs. Check current license terms before deciding how you will use it.
What are its main features?
The product page describes website/account management, server load statistics and access controls. Its tools cover databases, PHP, a job scheduler, a browser file manager, certificates and firewall settings. Mail tools include mailboxes, aliases, forwarding and spam filtering. Backup options include full/differential copies, scheduling, encryption and remote storage.
For a production plan, test the exact feature and backup destination you will use. Availability in a feature list does not establish that an external storage account is free or that its limits suit your retention policy.
What are the minimum system requirements?
The licensing page lists at least 1 CPU core at 1 GHz, 1 GB RAM and 5 GB available disk space. Its current OS list includes 64-bit AlmaLinux 8, Rocky Linux 8, Debian 9–12 and Ubuntu 18.04–24.04; ARM64 support is listed for Ubuntu 20.04, 22.04 and 24.04.
A listed older OS is not automatically a sensible new deployment. Choose a release still receiving security updates and confirm support for your intended panel version. Minimum free disk space is an installation threshold, not storage for your websites and long-term backups. Allow room for application data, mailboxes, databases, logs and updates.
Who is FASTPANEL for?
It is worth evaluating for website owners, developers and small teams who want common hosting tasks in one dashboard. If customers or contractors will receive access, test a restricted account and confirm it can reach only the intended sites and tools.
The interface can make routine tasks easier, but server ownership still includes patching, monitoring, recovery and incident response. Clarify the boundary between panel support and paid server administration before relying on either during an outage.
Can I host mail on the same server?
Mail management is a panel capability, but reliable delivery needs separate planning. Check your provider's outbound-mail policy, DNS authentication, reverse DNS and queue monitoring. A new VPS IP may not have a good sending reputation. Decide whether to operate local mail or use a dedicated email provider before migrating customer mailboxes.
How should I test backup features?
Create a small test website with known files and database records. Run the planned backup, restore it to an isolated destination and verify those records and site behavior. Check whether the copy includes all required configuration and mailbox data. Keep recovery credentials outside the VPS and monitor the last successful backup time.
Do not restore over a live site as a first experiment. Restoring an older copy can overwrite new orders, uploads or messages, so a real recovery needs an explicit data-loss decision.
Which is the best VPS hosting Control Panel?
Choose according to the applications, access controls, email needs and maintenance skills you have. Compare panels with the same test site and a full recovery exercise. Include server cost, support, add-ons and your time. A free license is useful, but it is only one part of running reliable hosting.
